Dr. Daniel Binkowski, also known as “Dr. B” by his patients, is a general dentist with a true passion for dentistry and a very diverse skillset from his unique education and training. He has developed a practice where he is able to provide family dentistry as well as specialized services. A few of these include wisdom teeth removal, implants and in-office deep sedation. His passion for dentistry has created a practice that caters to those wanting the highest level of comfort and care.
Dr. Binkowski graduated from Creighton University School of Dentistry, after receiving an Air Force Health Professions scholarship. He continued his education during his active duty in the Air Force from 2011 to 2015, where he was commissioned as a captain. He spent an extra year learning clinical procedures from several board-certified specialists in the Air Force’s Advanced Education in General Dentistry program at Offutt AFB in Omaha. He was ranked one of the top residents in his class for his clinical ability and treatment planning capabilities, as well as treating multidisciplinary complex dental cases. After, he volunteered for an assignment at a clinic in Eielson AFB in Alaska, where he provided a variety of dental services to the active duty population, such as the removal of fully impacted wisdom teeth, periodontal surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics and IV sedation.
His training did not end after residency, and he has since completed numerous hours of continuing education in the areas of IV sedation anesthesia and hands on surgical courses, as well as more than 200 hours of implant continuing education. While he practices all aspects of dentistry, from fillings to crowns, he is one of the few general dentists in the area who does all his own surgery, including placing and restoring implants, periodontal surgeries, and the removal of partially and fully impacted wisdom teeth. Dr. Binkowski also has privileges at a local hospital to see patients in an operating room setting.
Dr. Binkowski brings a wide array of clinical skills to Story City and the surrounding communities. He takes the time to talk to you and explain details in laymen’s terms. Patients at Story City Dental will benefit from both Dr. B’s diverse skillset and our many financing options for treatment. We take insurance and have an in-house dental savings plan and finance options to help eliminate cost barriers. And Dr. B brings Bear the comfort dog to work with him to help patients who need a little extra comfort.
Dr. Binkowski values building long-term relationships with his patients. To start, here are a few things you may not know about your dentist:

She strives to combine her clinical knowledge with her patients’ goals to deliver the best possible care for each patient. While you are in the dental chair, Dr. Chen works with you to make sure you are relaxed and comfortable during dental treatment.
At a young age, I knew I wanted to be a dental hygienist. I enjoy educating patients and providing them with great dental care in a comfortable setting. Away from work, I enjoy spending time with my husband, Kyler, and we are obsessed with our blue heelers, Tilly and Lou. We love to be outside going on long motorcycle rides and playing fetch with the girls. I enjoy crafting, all things coffee, going to the farmers market and tending to my flower garden.

I’m a small town girl with big city experience. I have a great passion for the medical field. I enjoy educating patients and helping them become more confident and motivated about dental health. At home I enjoy spending time with my 10 month old Mila and my significant other. I also love cooking and spending time with close friends and loved ones.
Professionally I have been in the dental profession for 3 years and the insurance field for 8 years. I am always looking for ways to grow and expand my knowledge with Medical and Dental insurance. At home, my family includes my husband of 10 years Chuck, two ornery boys Lucas, 9 and Levi, 7. We have 2 fur babies Elsa our 4 year old black lab and Zoey our 12 year old Bengal cat. We have a very active home life with wrestling, baseball, camping, fishing, and making memories.
I love coming to work and being a part of the team. I enjoy working with people and the challenge of learning new things as we grow this business. It is amazing to be a part of the reality of something that was just a dream for so long. When I am not in the office, I am at home taking care of our five children who keep me very busy between school and all of their activities. In my spare time I love to stay active, travel, and curl up with a good book.
I was born in Iowa, but raised in Arkansas. I moved back to Iowa in 2013 where I finished college from Iowa Central for Dental Hygiene in 2019. My husband and I enjoy the outdoors. We like to stay active and enjoy working on house projects.
Jo has lives in Boone with her husband, Rich, and her daughter, Maggy. She has been a dental assistant for over 13 years and loves helping people! She is the mother of 5 kids and has 2 grand-dogs that she loves to spoil!
I live in Story City with my significant other, Tanner. We love spending time with our dogs, Buddy & Nellie, camping, kayaking, and spending time with friends. I have always had a passion for working for others. I love getting to know patients and ensuring they have the best experience at the dentist.
Bear is Story City Dental’s English doodle comfort dog. He was born February 22, 2018, and shortly thereafter joined the Binkowski family and started therapy dog training.
