- On a Sunday night, my son was at a wrestling tournament when he suffered a traumatic injury to his jaw and lower teeth.
We rushed to the emergency room in Mason City, Iowa but they couldn't provide the specialized care he needed and had no on call dentist/oral surgeon there. Desperate, my husband and I spent hours calling for an on-call dentist. At 10 p.m., we heard back from Dr. Chen, who lived an hour away in from her practice- while we were in Mason City, lowa. Without hesitation, she drove an hour, and we drove two, just so she could meet us.
Dr. Chen was a lifesaver. She worked quickly and saved my son's teeth, most likely preventing a permanent loss. She also saw him early that next morning since we are from Utah and stayed in an hotel. All of you who live in this city are incredibly lucky to have her as your dentist. Her compassion and professionalism gave us peace of mind during such a stressful time.There are not many people like this in the world today. I can't thank her enough for her dedication and care. She’s an amazing dentist and person. Thank you, Dr. Chen ❤️ - 10/10!
Taylor was awesome at helping me feel comfortable at my first appointment and did an awesome job with cleaning my teeth. I have sensitive teeth at the bottom and she did an amazing job with making sure she was gentle and I felt little to no discomfort. My new Dr was also very knowledgeable and kind with explaining dental options for treatment. Will definitely be bringing my kids in to establish at some point. - New patient here! I was very pleased with my first time here. I walked in and was immediately met with kindness and comfort. Everyone there was helpful, kind, and extremely knowledgeable on what they were doing. I strongly recommend this place.
- Story City Dental is truly exceptional! Dr. Chen and the entire team were wonderful from start to finish. They are warm, professional, and make every visit comfortable and stress-free. You can tell they genuinely care about their patients and go above and beyond to ensure the best experience. Highly recommended for all of your family’s dental needs!
- Dr Binkowski is the best dentist i have ever met. The Staff was amazing. Dr Binkowski not only texted me for 5 days but helped me get in to get a horrible wisdom tooth removed. He will be my dentist from now on and I recommend anyone to give him a call and get your teeth taken care of. If I could give more stars I would. Absolutely the best Dentist office in story county.
- Went in as a new patient for X-rays, consultation and and a plan for going forward. My questions were all answered and my anxiety addressed. I feel comfortable and positive going forward. It was just an added comfort when Bear wandered in looking for someone to pet him.
- Dental visits are rarely pleasant however visiting Story City Dental IS always pleasant. The staff and Dr. Chen are very kind and caring. If you’re not fond of dentists I highly recommend trying Story City Dental!
- Absolutely a Godsend! Our daughter has out grown the pediatric dentist who was willing to go to the hospital and complete dental cleanings and exam while under anesthesia. Long waiting list at other places. Our daughter has Down Syndrome and isn’t able to communicate her needs. Story City Dental got her in within a few days for IV sedation and did an exam, cleaning and pulled all 4 of her impacted wisdom teeth. They were amazing with her.
- Thankful for this clinic. I have a great fear and they put me at ease. Very kind. Receptionists are welcoming and of course I love Bear, the therapy dog! Very clean and nice!

Jo is so fun and kind! Really enjoyed her. - Very nice to work with, very polite and clean. Got me in right on time was a very pleasant experience. I've been going for about 5 years now and have enjoyed the small town dental experience.
- I had a wonderful experience at this dental office! The entire team is warm, welcoming, and truly cares about their patients. The hygienist was gentle and thorough, and the dentist took the time to explain everything clearly. The office is clean, modern, and very organized. Highly recommend!

- Best dentist office I have ever been to. Dr. Chen, Jo, and Bear(the englishdoodle) took the best care of me. I was so relaxed I forgot I was at the dentist.
- Story City dental, I would recommend to everyone. I already have in our state. My son needed dental work done, with his special needs no one in our state would sedate him. When I called I sent over the referral and everything that was needed, they made an appointment right away. The staff doctors and the anesthesiologist were amazing. So if anybody needs dental work please call Story City dental. Everyone there treated my son like a person, and they actually care. They strive to help and will work with you
- So happy to have found Story City Dental to treat our adult daughter who has autism and is very resistant to dental work. Everyone we dealt with was kind and professional. Worth the trip from Cedar Rapids.
- We love this place! Everyone in the office is helpful and professional. We had a wonderful experience and will return for all of her IV sedation dental work. We drove 2 1/2 hours to get there and it was totally worth it!
After the procedure, my daughter had tears of joy when she saw how much better her teeth looked. Thank you! - This was my first visit to Story City Dental and I think it was great! The staff are all very friendly and knowledgeable. And it was great meeting their dog, Bear!!
- Huge shout out to Dr. Binkowski and his team at Story City Dental for making my experience and extractions easy as pie! I have terrible dental anxiety AND I’d never been sedated before so going into my appointment I was so nervous. He and his team went out of their way to make me feel comfortable and safe! He truly has a passion for helping people and making them feel better. I can say that I’m on day 2 post procedure and I have very little pain, I’m healing up nicely and I know that’s 100% because of Dr. Binkowski. I’ll never see another dentist other than him and can’t thank him enough for helping me gain my confidence back in my smile and in going to the dentist! Thank you!

- I'd recommend this dental clinic if you have any dental issues. I have to say that Dr. Chen is the best dentist I've ever been treated by. Dr Chen is extremely humble and patient enough to listen to my dental issues/questions and handle them thoroughly, as are Sid, Taylor, and the Front Desk woman.
- First time in many years, that my teeth have been cleaned and my gums were not raw after! Thank you Taylor... Dr. Chen was very kind and knowledgeable with some great information on a few things I need to have corrected... Very nice facilties! Would recommend!

- I was nervous changing my dental office. When I called Story City Dental to make an appointment they were so nice and helpful. My appointment was scheduled within the week. My experience with Katy the hygienist was wonderful. She listened to my concerns, she empathized with a past experience and was eager to answer queries and explained everything so well. They have state of the art equipment for x-rays that made that experience for me a breeze. I usually have a horrible time with the old bite wings x rays. Then at the end of my visit the beautiful office dog came in to see me. He was so calming. Handsome dog he is. The Dr. that came in to see me was pleasant and was eager to listen to my concerns. Great experience! So wonderful to have this office in my hometown.
- This place was wonderful to give my business and trust to. Every single staff member was kind and made sure that I was comfortable and happy. Every step was explained and clarified for me so that I understood what was happening. The procedure was quick and they didn’t try to shove anything onto me/upsell/scam. They were honest and even pulled up an itemized bill right away. I didn’t even have to ask! I felt so comfortable with paying because I knew what I was paying for. They work with those who don’t have insurance and even offer some great insurance themselves. I’m going sign up soon so that I can get some cleanings this upcoming year!
Long story short, I came in with discomfort and pain and it was eased and fixed within less than an hour. I will keep returning for as long as possible. - Dr. B and his whole crew took such good care of me. I came in with a serious infection. I was promptly treated and had a care plan. They did everything to make all of this happen so I could get better! Everyone is so kind and fun spirited, I feel so comfortable there! And Bear! Oh that precious dog is the cherry on the Sunday! I highly recommend Story City Dental!!! Tell em I sent ya 😉❤️

Very good at every dental work I have had done. Fast and gentle - They did an outstanding job on my visit. The staff was very knowledgeable and always informed me of what was going on. Gave very helpful suggestions on issues that they saw from my cleaning. Highly recommend.

The dental hygienist was fast and knowledgeable, and the doctors listened to my needs and worked to utilize my insurance in the best way possible. And the atmosphere was awesome. Especially the cute doggie that checks up on you from time to time 🙂
- Very professional and clean office with really caring employees. We get quick appointments even when I wait until the last minute to call. Everything including recommendations, procedures, and charges are clearly explained. Our experiences here have been really great - highly recommend!
