Dr. Daniel Binkowski, fondly referred to as “Dr. B” by his patients, is a general dentist who is licensed to provide IV sedation dentistry through Story City Dental. Since 2011, Dr. Binkowski has immersed himself in dentistry, and he plans to do so long into the future.
Dr. Binkowski graduated from Creighton University School of Dentistry, after receiving an Air Force Health Professions scholarship. He continued his education during his active duty in the Air Force from 2011 to 2015, where he was commissioned as a Captain. He spent an extra year learning clinical procedures from several board-certified specialists in the Air Force’s Advanced Education in General Dentistry program at Offutt AFB in Omaha. He was ranked one of the top residents in his class for his clinical ability and treatment planning capabilities, as well as treating multidisciplinary complex dental cases. After, he volunteered for an assignment at a clinic in Eielson AFB in Alaska, where he provided a variety of dental services to the active duty population, such as the removal of fully impacted wisdom teeth, periodontal surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics and IV sedation.
Dr. Binkowski is bringing a wide array of clinical skills into private practice. Patients at Story City Dental can expect to receive comprehensive dental care all under the Story City Dental roof, without hardly ever needing to be referred. And as the only general dentist in the Central Iowa area to offer IV sedation, Dr. Binkowski can help you overcome any fears or anxieties that keep you from the dental health you deserve.
Dr. Binkowski values building long-term relationships with his patients. To start, here are a few things you may not know about your dentist:
At a young age, I knew I wanted to be a dental hygienist. I enjoy educating patients and providing them with great dental care in a comfortable setting. Away from work, I enjoy spending time with my husband, Kyler, and we are obsessed with our blue heeler, Tilly. We love to be outside going on long motorcycle rides, boating and playing fetch with Tilly. I enjoy crafting, all things coffee, going to the farmers market and tending to my flower garden.
I earned my dental hygiene degree from Des Moines Area Community College in 2015. I love connecting and getting to know patients. My goal with patients is to make sure they are comfortable and pain free while in the chair. I strive to provide the best possible education for my patients when it comes to their oral health. I enjoy spending time with my husband Jon. We love going to movies, traveling, camping, or just hanging out at home. Marty and Gizmo are my two cats that I rescued when they were kittens. Katie is my dog that we rescued when she was 10 weeks old. We love our fur babies!
Expanded Function Dental Assistant
I graduated from the Dental Assistant program at DMACC in 2012. I live in Story City with my husband, dachshund and two cats. I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, camping, kayaking, softball, photography and target shooting. I’m a great listener and love building relationships with my patients.
The first thing I notice when I look at a person is their smile, and that is how I knew that I wanted to be a dental assistant. I graduated from DMACC in 2017. I love the clinical side of assisting and helping out patients in any way that I can. In my spare time I love spending time with my significant other and our 3 year old daughter Lana. We love to go camping and spending time on the lake. We also love our cat.
I have always enjoyed working with people. This is truly my passion helping our patients. I love making patients feel comfortable and welcome when they come through the door.
When I am not at work I love spending time with my husband Aric, and my son Sawyer and our two vizsla dogs Huck and Daisy. I love shopping and going to wine tastings. We enjoy spending time outside camping and gardening, and love concerts and spending time with friends and family. We have a woodworking business.
After graduating from Iowa State with a Bachelors in Human Sciences, I continued on to Ellsworth Community College to specialize in medical coding and insurance billing. I like problem solving and working with numbers, as well as learning new things! When I am away from work, I love spending time with family and friends, camping, going to concerts and DIY crafting. Above all, I love spoiling my Texas Heeler, Remi.
I enjoy interacting with patients and building relationships with them. I love problem solving and learning new things. Outside of work, my husband and I spend most of our time running four kids around. When we’re not doing that, I love to give my husband my pinterest project list. The kids usually jump in and “help” too.
I love coming to work and being a part of the team. I enjoy working with people and the challenge of learning new things as we grow this business. It is amazing to be a part of the reality of something that was just a dream for so long. When I am not in the office, I am at home taking care of our four girls who keep me very busy between school and all of their activities. In my spare time I love to stay active, travel, and curl up with a good book.
